Akshara High School

Akshara High School began with the concept of creating a friendly environment for the education of children in the vicinity of their homes. Over the past few years we have developed ourselves as a 'Neighbourhood School' in Kandivili, Mumbai.

Akshara is located in a green zone surrounded by mangroves, creating a peaceful learning environment, unique for a crowded metropolis like Mumbai.

Our teachers are facilitators, who hold the hands of our children, readying them for taking flight into a world of opportunity, self-growth and success.

Our methodologies integrate the play and project approach with textbook content and these are structured to initiate multi-disciplinary learning through innovative classroom activities and practical lessons.

We believe that a strong bond between parents-teachers-school management is the key to providing a learning environment that is sensitive to the needs of children.

Akshara High School was founded in 2005 by the VSPM Trust and will now be managed by the Akshara Foundation of Arts & Learning (AFAL)

• Max. 25 students per class, for a better one-to-one learning environment.

• Pre Primary Section - Nursery, Junior KG, Senior KG
• Primary Section - Std. I to V
• Middle School - Std. VI
• Middle School - Std. VII to VIII (Proposed for 2011-2013)
• Secondary School - Std. IX & Std. X (Proposed for 2013-15)
• Junior College (ISC Examination) Std XI & Std XII (Proposed)
