PRITHVI THEATRE @ AKSHARA
Akshara in collaboration with Prithvi Theatre has been organising the Summertime at Kandivili as well. Together we aim to provide children of our school the opportunity to explore their creativity and fall in love with the arts. Summertime workshops are open to students of other schools as well.
Summertime includes three main components - workshops, melas and a season of plays for children.

These are conducted by professionals from theatre and other arts for young people, aged 6-16 years, at venues across Mumbai, including Akshara. Workshops range from poetry to acting to pottery to mask-making and so on. These workshops are fundamentally process-oriented - the focus is not on the mastery of specific skills, but avenues for youngsters to explore there own creativity and fall in love with the arts. The idea is to develop a future audience for theatre and unleash creativity in youth. Participants also get a free annual pass to children's plays at Prithvi Theatre.
Summertime Mela
Is held at the end of the workshop week at Prithvi as well as at Akshara.

All through the Summer holidays a season of plays for children is programmed. These shows are held at Prithvi Theatre and other partner venues. The Season has met with a resounding response from parents and children alike, and is now an annual affair. Akshara is in the process of bringing regular performances to the school premises in 2010.
